Helpful Hints for the Property

  • At night, keep minimal lights on in the cabins to detract insects.

  • There are three outdoor flood lights (The switches are in the big camp – Living room wall between sunroom and kitchen & bedroom beside the outside door & next to the refrigerator)

  • The campfire permits are in the red binder in the big camp – Please do not use the split wood for camp fires, the split wood is for the wood stoves only– there is a lot of down wood on the property - you are responsible for the fire and fire safty.

  •  “Big Eddy” Swimming hole can be quite busy during the day when its hot (noon to 4pm), but it’s a great place to cool off.

  • "Little Eddy" Swimming hole is excellent to visit in late afternoon or early evening, it's usually quiet at that time and the sun is beaming down on the water and rocks. Please Note: Entry via the dirt road/path is a bit steep.  You may drive there with little ones if you prefer -- there is a town parking lot.  Refer to Property Map on the fridge for "little eddy" location.

  • Do not leave trash bags outside overnight (use red trash bin by shed, key is hanging on the back of bin) if you don't want to take it with you there is a $3 per bag fee and will be picked up on Monday morning.

  • To get to Rite Aid Pharmacy or Shaws Supermarket (both shops are very large, modern and reasonably priced) – Take a right onto Route 112, at the end of road, take a left onto Route 302.  Rite Aid is on the left after a few miles.  If you turn right just at Rite Aid, the supermarket is a few hundred yards on the right.(10 min)

  • Please feel free to write in the camp journal (it’s located in the small camp living room with a floral pattern)

  • Log Cabin Convenience Store is under 1 mile to the left on route 112.  It sells all basic convenience store items, subs, beer, fishing licenses.

  •  If the gas is off to the stove/oven in the big cabin: The valve is located in the cupboard to the bottom left of the stove.  If the valve is parallel with the pipe, it is on.  Once the valve is on, light the pilot by opening the bottom drawer (Pull the tray out of the oven & the pilot is in the back – using a long match is the best way to light the pilot) and light the stove top by lifting the top cover and lighting the two pilots between the front and back burners.
